Tools Needed

  • Driver Drill with #2 Phillips Bit
  • 5/16″ Nut Driver
  • Crescent Wrench

Steps

0:00 | Make sure to turn off the power to the unit and disconnect it from the wall socket before servicing.

0:18 | Step 1: Remove the top cover screws and set the cover aside.

0:24 | Step 2: Locate the control board inside the top of the unit.

0:31 | Step 3: Disconnect all wires attached to the control board, taking note of their location.

0:40 | Step 4: Remove the knob from the front of the control board, then remove the retainer nut on the potentiometer shaft.

0:51 | Locate and remove the 6 nuts that hold the control board in place.

1:05 | Step 6: Remove the faulty control board and install the new one. Ensure the correct position of button alignments.

1:17 | Step 7: Reinstall the 6 nuts removed in step 5. Be careful to not overtighten the nuts or the buttons may not function properly.

1:25 | Step 8: Reinstall the nut removed in step 5 on the potentiometer shaft (do not overtighten). Reinstall the knob.

1:35 | Step 9: Reconnect all the wires that were removed in step 4 to their correct locations on the new control board.

1:49 | Step 10: Restore power to the unit and test the functionality of the new control board.

2:00 | Step 11: Once operationality is confirmed, reinstall the top cover with the screws removed in step 1 and return the unit to service.
